Vacancy Announcement: Facility Information Officer

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Facility Information Officer within the Amajuba Health District Office. Remuneration

The successful candidate will receive an annual salary ranging from R325 101 to R345 054, inclusive of benefits such as:

  • 13th Cheque

  • Medical Aid

  • Housing Allowance (optional and subject to eligibility)

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification

  • National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Statistics, or Computer Science

  • Valid Driver’s Licence (minimum Code EB)

  • Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Added Advantage:
At least one (1) year of experience working with Routine Health Information Systems, including:

  • TIER.NET (ART)

  • District Health Information System (DHIS)

  • Electronic TB Register (ETR)

  • HPRS

Competencies and Skills

  • Sound knowledge of data management and information systems

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy

  • Ability to compile presentations and graphical reports

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Rolling out and installing TB/HIV Information Systems and HPRS in health facilities

  • Training facility staff on routine health information systems

  • Providing technical support for ART, DHIS, ETR, and EDR Web systems

  • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting of health programme data

  • Coordinating routine and non-routine data collection, including surveys

  • Preparing templates and reports for programme monitoring
