Gauteng Department of Human Settlements Hiring – April 2026

Requirements:

  • Matric and NQF Level 8 qualification (e.g., Town Planning, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Public Management)
  • Minimum 8 years’ senior management experience in housing or infrastructure delivery
  • Valid driver’s license
  • SMS Pre-Entry Certificate (mandatory)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead policy development and research in human settlements
  • Oversee large-scale infrastructure and planning programmes
  • Manage housing subsidy compliance and beneficiary systems
  • Direct informal settlement and land release initiatives
  • Drive strategic planning and operational performance

2. Chief Director: Asset Disposal and Rental Housing

Salary: R1 494 900 per annum (all-inclusive)
Location: Johannesburg

Requirements:

  • Matric and Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Property Studies, Real Estate, or related field
  • At least 5 years’ senior management experience in immovable asset disposal
  • Valid driver’s license
  • SMS Pre-Entry Certificate (mandatory)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement asset disposal and rental housing strategies
  • Oversee legal and policy frameworks relating to property
  • Manage dispute resolution and Rental Housing Tribunal processes
  • Supervise asset transfers, mediation, and appeals
  • Ensure compliance with PFMA and treasury regulations
