Free State Government Recruitment: Security Positions Open (Closing 24 April 2026)

The Free State Department of Public Works and Infrastructure has announced the opening of applications for several security-related vacancies in the Thabo Mofutsanyane Region. Senior Security Officer (Ref: PWI 26/09)

  • Salary: R228,321 per annum (Level 05)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  • 2–3 years of relevant security experience
  • PSIRA Grade A registration
  • Ability to obtain security clearance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise security personnel and daily operations
  • Manage access control and building safety
  • Monitor incidents and maintain records
  • Coordinate staff schedules, leave, and overtime
  • Assess security systems and report faults
  • Support policy development and risk management initiatives

Security Officer (Ref: PWI 26/10)

  • Number of Posts: 3
  • Salary: R168,680 per annum (Level 03)

Minimum Requirements:

  • NQF Level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • PSIRA Grade C registration
  • Ability to pass security clearance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Control access to premises
  • Ensure safety of buildings and personnel
  • Prevent unauthorized entry or removal of items
  • Record incidents in occurrence registers
  • Operate security and control room systems
