Department of Land Reform and Rural Development Announces New Government Vacancies for 2026

The Department of Land Reform and Rural Development (DLRRD) has officially opened applications for several government vacancies for 2026, providing employment opportunities for qualified South Africans across various professional and administrative fields.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Public Administration, Development Studies, Social Science, Political Science, or a related qualification.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience at senior management level.
  • Proven leadership, stakeholder management, and intergovernmental coordination skills.

The successful candidate will oversee government programme coordination, strengthen intergovernmental relations, and support collaboration between different spheres of government.

Human Resource Policy Vacancy

The department is also recruiting for the role of Deputy Director: Human Resource Policy, offering a salary package of R932,292 per annum.

Minimum requirements include:

  • A National Diploma in Human Resource Management, Public Management, or Public Administration.
  • At least three years’ junior management experience in the HR environment.
  • Strong policy development, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.

The appointed candidate will contribute to the development, review, and implementation of HR policies within the department.

Secretariat Support Services Opportunity

The position of Assistant Director: Secretariat Support Services is also available with a remuneration package of R487,197 per annum.

Applicants should have:

  • A National Diploma in Office Management, Business Administration, or Public Administration.
  • At least three years’ supervisory experience within a corporate secretariat environment.
  • Strong organisational, minute-taking, and report-writing skills.

Key responsibilities include coordinating executive meetings, compiling agendas and reports, and managing governance-related documentation.

Forensic Investigation Positions

DLRRD has further advertised two vacancies for Assistant Director: Forensic Investigations, each offering a salary of R487,197 annually.

To qualify, candidates must possess:

  • A National Diploma in Forensic Investigation, Law, Auditing, Forensic Accounting, or Criminal Justice.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in forensic investigations.
  • Excellent analytical and investigative competencies.

Successful candidates will assist with planning, conducting, reporting, and finalising forensic investigation projects within the department.

Entry-Level Administration Opportunity

For individuals with limited or no work experience, the department is offering an Administration Clerk position with a salary of R237,453 per annum.

Requirements include:

  • A Grade 12 certificate.
  • Basic computer literacy and communication skills.
