The Department of Employment and Labour invites applications for various vacant posts within the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) and selected Labour Centres across South Africa. These opportunities are available to qualified professionals, graduates, and entry-level candidates seeking employment within the public service.

Available Positions

  1. Deputy Director: Demand and Acquisition
    Salary: R896 436 per annum (all-inclusive)
    Location: UIF, Pretoria
    A senior management position responsible for demand planning, acquisition services, and warehouse management. A relevant NQF Level 6 qualification in Supply Chain Management or a related field, together with extensive SCM and junior management experience, is required.

  2. Assistant Director: Operation Systems Support Services
    Salary: R468 459 per annum
    Location: UIF, Pretoria
    Responsible for operational systems support, coordination of applications, and liaison with service providers. A qualification in Operations Management, Computer Science, or Informatics, along with relevant experience, is required.

  3. Assistant Director: Board Services and Case Management (Contract)
    Salary: R468 459 per annum + 37% benefits
    Location: UIF, Pretoria
    A 1-year contract position focusing on board administration, appeals management, and stakeholder engagement. Suitable for candidates with experience in board or secretariat services.

  4. Senior Practitioner: Corporate Governance (Contract)
    Salary: R397 116 per annum + 37% benefits
    Location: UIF, Pretoria
    Responsible for supporting corporate governance structures, committee processes, and board evaluations. Relevant qualifications in governance, auditing, law, or public administration are required.

  5. Senior Practitioner: Records Management
    Salary: R397 116 per annum
    Location: UIF, Pretoria
    Duties include managing physical and electronic records in compliance with national archival and records management standards.

  6. Inspector
    Salary: R325 101 per annum
    Location: eQonce Labour Centre
    Responsible for inspections, investigations, and enforcement of labour legislation. A relevant qualification and a valid driver’s licence are required.

  7. Client Service Officer: Public Employment Services (PES)
    Salary: R269 499 per annum
    Location: Butterworth Labour Centre
    An entry-level position requiring Grade 12, responsible for registering work-seekers and vacancies on the ESSA system and providing frontline client services.

  8. Inspector (Multiple Posts)
    Salary: R269 499 per annum
    Locations:

    • Vryheid Labour Centre (2 posts)

    • Durban Labour Centre (1 post)

  9. Administrative Clerk: Management Support Services (2 Posts)
    Salary: R228 321 per annum
    Locations:

    • Vryheid Labour Centre

    • Port Shepstone Labour Centre

  10. Team Leader: Physical and Information Security Services
    Salary: R228 321 per annum
    Location: UIF, Pretoria
    Requirements include Grade 12, a PSIRA Grade B certificate, and relevant security experience.
