Limpopo Department of Health Announces Senior Medical and EMS Vacancies for 2026

The Limpopo Department of Health has officially announced several senior-level vacancies within its medical and emergency medical services for the 2026 recruitment cycle. These posts are aimed at experienced healthcare professionals seeking leadership positions within public health facilities across the province.

Senior Clinical Manager: Head of Institution – Dr CN Phatudi Hospital

The Department invites applications for the position of Senior Clinical Manager (Head of Institution) at Dr CN Phatudi Hospital. This role entails overall strategic leadership, clinical governance, and operational management of the hospital.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic and operational planning aligned with national and provincial health priorities

  • Financial management in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)

  • Human resource development and performance management

  • Oversight of clinical governance and maintenance of patient care standards

The position offers an all-inclusive annual remuneration package of R1,647,630, plus a rural allowance of 18% of the basic salary.

Senior Clinical Manager (Medical) – Philadelphia Hospital

Philadelphia Hospital is recruiting a Senior Clinical Manager (Medical Grade 1) to lead and manage medical services within the institution.

Responsibilities include:

  • Management of medical practitioners and allied health professionals

  • Ensuring continuity of care and effective referral systems

  • Implementation of clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives

  • Monitoring of performance indicators and effective resource management

The post offers a salary package of R1,647,630 per annum, with an additional 22% ISRDS rural allowance.

EMS District Manager – Waterberg District

The Department is also seeking an EMS District Manager (Grade 2–3) for the Waterberg District. This position requires extensive experience in emergency medical services and operational leadership.

Key duties include:

  • Management of EMS personnel, vehicles, and equipment

  • Ensuring compliance with emergency care protocols

  • Oversight of shift operations and service quality standards

  • Application of best clinical practices in line with departmental policies

The annual salary ranges from R661,263 to R1,016,055, depending on the appointed grade.
