National School of Government Announces Senior Management Vacancies in Pretoria
The National School of Government (NSG) has officially opened applications for two senior management positions aimed at strengthening curriculum development, digital learning, and professional training within South Africa’s public sector.
These permanent opportunities are based in Pretoria and form part of the NSG’s broader mission to professionalise government training and improve public sector capacity through innovative education and development programmes.

Available Positions
Chief Director: Curriculum Support and Trainer Professionalisation
The NSG is seeking an experienced senior leader to oversee curriculum transformation and Education, Training and Development (ETD) professionalisation initiatives across the institution.
The successful candidate will lead curriculum innovation, accreditation processes, digital learning integration, and strategic collaboration with universities, SETAs, and international partners.
Salary and Location
- Salary: R1 494 900 per annum
- Level: 14
- Location: Pretoria
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Curriculum Development, Instructional Design, Education, Capacity Development, or a related field
- Extensive relevant experience, including at least five years at senior management level
- Strong knowledge of SAQA, QCTO, CHE, and the National Qualifications Framework (NQF)
Postgraduate qualifications and professional registration will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead curriculum design and accreditation initiatives
- Drive ETD practitioner professionalisation programmes
- Promote digital learning and EdTech innovation
- Develop modular and credit-bearing programmes
- Oversee quality assurance and curriculum compliance
- Build strategic partnerships locally and internationally
The role requires expertise in policy development, instructional design, research, and organisational change management.
Director: Curriculum Support
The NSG is also recruiting a Director: Curriculum Support to enhance teaching and learning support systems within the institution.
Salary and Location

Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must possess:
- An NQF Level 7 qualification in Curriculum Development, Instructional Design, Teaching, or a related field
- At least five years of middle or senior management experience
A postgraduate qualification and Public Affairs teaching experience will serve as added advantages.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and review curriculum content
- Design blended, virtual, and classroom-based learning programmes
- Create eLearning and instructional materials
- Ensure curriculum alignment with constitutional values and public service priorities
- Manage accreditation and quality assurance processes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve learning outcomes
Applicants should demonstrate strong knowledge of inclusive pedagogy, digital learning systems, policy interpretation, and project management.
Supporting Public Sector Professionalisation
