Office of the Chief Justice Announces New Vacancies Across South Africa for 2026
The Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ) has officially opened applications for a wide range of government vacancies for 2026, creating employment opportunities for qualified South Africans across multiple provinces. Key responsibilities include managing court documentation systems, supervising staff, improving operational efficiency, and supporting judicial processes.
Assistant Director: Supply Chain Management
The OCJ is also seeking an Assistant Director: Supply Chain Management in Gauteng. The position offers a salary package between R487,197 and R573,897 per annum.
Suitable candidates should possess qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Procurement, Logistics, or Public Administration, along with at least three years of relevant experience. Knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and LOGIS systems will serve as an added advantage.
Principal Court Interpreter Vacancy
A Principal Court Interpreter post is available at the Eastern Cape Division of the High Court in Mthatha.
The successful applicant will earn between R413,001 and R486,501 annually and will be responsible for interpreting during court proceedings, translating legal documents, supervising interpreters, and assisting with terminology development.
Applicants must hold a National Diploma in Legal Interpreting or an equivalent qualification and have a minimum of two years’ relevant experience.
Judge’s Secretary Positions
Judge’s Secretary vacancies are available in Middelburg and Mthatha, with salary packages ranging from R338,106 to R398,277 per annum.
Candidates should have partial law studies or an LLB degree, combined with administrative or secretarial experience. Duties include supporting judges administratively, managing schedules, preparing court documents, and coordinating court activities.
Registrar Vacancy in Pietermaritzburg
The KwaZulu-Natal Division of the High Court is recruiting a Registrar in Pietermaritzburg. Salary packages range from R337,563 to R1,155,777 annually, depending on experience and level.

Entry-Level Government Jobs
