The National Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) hereby invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for a number of senior management and professional positions for the 2026 financial year. All positions are based in Pretoria.

1. Chief Director: Risk and Ethics Management
Reference: ODG01/2026
Salary: R1 494 900 per annum (all-inclusive package)
Centre: Pretoria
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement Enterprise Risk Management frameworks
-
Manage ethics, fraud prevention, and anti-corruption strategies
-
Oversee investigations relating to fraud and corruption
-
Provide strategic reports to Management and Audit & Risk Committees
Minimum Requirements:
-
NQF Level 7 qualification in Risk Management, Auditing, or a related field
-
Minimum of 5 years’ experience at senior management level
-
In-depth knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and anti-corruption legislation

2. Chief Director: Demand and Acquisition Management

Salary: R1 494 900 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

Manage demand, acquisition, and contract management systems

Oversee SCM compliance and bid committee processes

Provide strategic leadership in procurement governance
Minimum Requirements:

NQF Level 7 qualification in Supply Chain Management or Financial Accounting

At least 5 years’ experience at senior management level

Sound knowledge of SCM legislation and PFMA

Key Responsibilities:

Manage mining and environmental appeals

Provide legal advice to the Minister

Minimum Requirements:

Law degree (NQF Level 7)

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) applications

Implement integrated environmental decision-making processes

Manage environmental approvals for strategic infrastructure projects
Minimum Requirements:

Proven experience in EIAs and environmental regulation

Minimum Requirements:

Monitor compliance with PFMA and SCM legislation

Support audit and assurance processes
Minimum Requirements:

National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Accounting, Auditing, or Finance

Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience

Working knowledge of BAS, LOGIS, and PERSAL systems
