Deputy Director: Conflict Prevention and Management

Job Purpose
To implement and coordinate provincial strategies for conflict prevention and conflict management across government departments.
Minimum Requirements
-
Three-year tertiary qualification in Labour Relations, Labour Law, or Human Resource Management (NQF Level 7)
-
6–7 years’ experience in conflict prevention and management
-
Minimum of 3 years’ experience at Assistant Director level or equivalent
-
Valid driver’s licence
-
Proven knowledge of labour legislation, collective bargaining, dispute resolution, and project management
Key Responsibilities
-
Facilitate and manage conflict resolution processes
-
Conduct advocacy on dispute, conflict, and strike management
-
Provide labour relations support services at a provincial level
-
Monitor and evaluate conflict prevention initiatives
-
Disseminate labour-related case law, policies, and best practices

Knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and Public Service financial systems

Key Responsibilities

Assist with budget compilation and adjustments

Monitor expenditure and income against approved budgets

Prepare and verify In-Year Monitoring (IYM) reports

Support cash flow management and budget virements
