SAPS DPCI Vacancies 2026: Secretaries, Admin Clerks, Security Officers & Cleaners

The South African Police Service (SAPS), through the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), commonly known as the Hawks, has announced multiple support staff vacancies for 2026. These positions are available at both the DPCI Head Office and various provincial offices across South Africa.

The vacancies provide employment opportunities for suitably qualified South African citizens who wish to support a critical law-enforcement institution responsible for combating serious and organised crime.

Available Positions

1. Secretary (46 Posts)

Salary: R228 321 per annum (Level 05)
Centres: Head Office and Provincial Offices

These positions are distributed across several DPCI components, including Executive Support Services, Governance and Corporate Services, Priority Crime Investigation units, and provincial offices.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or NC(V) Level 4 qualification

  • Proficiency in at least two official languages (English is compulsory)

  • Computer literacy and strong administrative skills

  • South African citizenship with no criminal record

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing comprehensive secretarial support

  • Managing diaries, correspondence, meetings, and travel arrangements

  • Maintaining filing systems and handling confidential documentation

  • Supporting meetings, workshops, and general office operations


2. Administration Clerk (2 Posts)

Reference: DPCI/HO/90/2025
Salary: R228 321 per annum (Level 05)
Centre: Head Office

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or NC(V) Level 4 qualification

  • Knowledge of Batho Pele principles and front-office etiquette

  • Good communication and computer skills

Key Duties:

  • Providing reception and call-handling services

  • Coordinating meetings and travel arrangements

  • Managing office records and visitor control

  • Ensuring a professional and organised reception environment


3. Security Officers (75 Posts)

Salary: R163 680 per annum (Level 03)
Centres: Head Office and various provincial offices

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 10 qualification (NQF Level 3)

  • Valid PSIRA registration with a minimum Grade C certificate

  • Willingness to work shifts and extended hours

  • No criminal record and successful vetting

Main Duties:

  • Access control and security screening

  • Patrolling premises and monitoring security equipment

  • Guarding state property and official vehicles

  • Enforcing safety and security protocols


4. Cleaners (15 Posts)

Salary: R138 486 per annum (Level 02)
Centres: Various provincial offices

Requirements:

  • Basic literacy and communication skills

  • Ability to read and write

  • Grade 10 qualification will be an advantage

Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning offices, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas

  • Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness standards

  • Handling cleaning equipment and materials

  • Assisting with basic maintenance tasks
