Department of Social Development Vacancies 2026

The Department of Social Development (DSD) invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following permanent government positions based in Pretoria. These opportunities are available within the auditing, information technology, administration, and disability support environments.

1. Director: Financial, Compliance and IT Audits

Reference Number: C1/A/2026
Location: Pretoria (HSRC Building)
Salary: R1 266 714 per annum (inclusive package)

Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • An NQF Level 7 qualification in:

    • Internal Auditing, or

    • Auditing, or

    • Information Technology

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ management experience

  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification

  • Proven knowledge of:

    • IT security frameworks (ISO, COBIT, ITIL)

    • Financial reporting standards

    • Risk management

    • Public sector regulations

    • PFMA and governance frameworks

  • Experience in Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATS)

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop and implement internal audit strategies and policies

  • Manage financial, compliance, and IT audits

  • Compile and present audit reports

  • Support the Audit Committee

  • Monitor implementation of audit recommendations

  • Manage budgets and staff performance

This position is classified as a senior management role requiring strong leadership and advanced technical expertise.


2. Personal Aide

Reference Number: C1/B/2026
Location: Pretoria (HSRC Building)
Salary: R228 321 per annum

Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • An NQF Level 5 qualification in:

    • Office Administration, or

    • Office Management

  • 1–2 years’ experience supporting persons with disabilities

  • Knowledge of:

    • Public Service regulations

    • Disability support procedures

    • Records and financial administration

  • Computer proficiency, including assistive software:

    • JAWS

    • Daisy

    • DBT

Additional competencies include communication skills, planning and organisation, customer service, report writing, and knowledge of Braille or sign language.

Key Responsibilities

The Personal Aide will:

  • Provide personal and administrative support

  • Maintain records and documentation

  • Assist with financial and supply chain processes

  • Track and follow up on documents and correspondence

This role is ideal for individuals committed to disability inclusion and support services.
