Free State Government Vacancies 2026: Community Safety, Transport & Health Departments

The Free State Provincial Government has announced a range of employment opportunities for the 2026 recruitment cycle. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for vacancies within the Department of Community Safety, Roads and Transport and the Free State Department of Health.

Department of Community Safety, Roads and Transport

Provincial Regulatory Entity (PRE): Chairperson / Members

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 10 years’ experience in the public and/or private sector

  • A postgraduate qualification in Accounting, Auditing, Risk Management, IT, Law, or a Transport-related field

  • Sound knowledge of the National Land Transport Act (NLTA)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising the Accounting Officer and the MEC

  • Strengthening governance, risk management, and internal control systems

  • Promoting effective, regulated, and sustainable public transport services in the Free State

Free State Department of Health Vacancies 2026

The Department of Health is recruiting for senior management, professional, technical, and clinical positions across the province.

Senior Management & Executive Positions

  • Deputy Director-General: Clinical Health Services

  • Chief Executive Officer: Pelonomi Tertiary Hospital

  • District Directors (3 Posts)

  • Directors: Supply Chain Management; TB & CDC

Applicants must hold relevant postgraduate qualifications, have extensive management experience, and must have completed or be enrolled in the SMS Pre-Entry Programme (Nyukela).

Professional & Technical Positions

  • Chief Construction Project Manager

  • Chief Electrical Engineer

  • Chief Mechanical Engineer

  • Chief Architect

  • Chief Quantity Surveyor

  • Construction Project Manager

  • Electrical Engineer (Maintenance)

  • Health Facility Planner

Candidates should be professionally registered with bodies such as ECSA, SACPCMP, or SACQSP, and possess experience in infrastructure development and public sector compliance.

Clinical & Health Professional Positions

  • Assistant Manager: Medical Physicist

  • Deputy Director: Medical Orthotics & Prosthetics

  • Medical Officers Grade 1–3 (Multiple Posts)

Applicants must be registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and meet the required experience criteria.
