Department of Tourism Vacancies 2026: Clerk Positions (Pretoria)

The Department of Tourism invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for contract vacancies available in 2026. These positions offer an opportunity to gain practical experience within the South African public service and are based at the Department’s offices in Pretoria.

Available Positions

HR Clerk (6-Month Contract)

Reference Number: 1/2026
Salary: R228 321 per annum, plus 37% in lieu of service benefits
Location: Pretoria

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification

  • Knowledge of Human Resource practices in the Public Service

  • Understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and prescripts

  • Computer literacy (MS Office)

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and function effectively in a team

Added Advantages:

  • PERSAL certificate

  • Practical or experiential learning in Human Resources

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support in recruitment, selection, and appointment processes

  • Capture and manage applications and HR information on PERSAL

  • Arrange meeting logistics and record minutes

  • Draft submissions, offer letters, and regret letters

  • Administer leave applications and service benefits

  • Maintain and audit personnel files

  • Provide general administrative support within the HR unit

Admin Clerk: Internal Control and Compliance (6-Month Contract)

Reference Number: 2/2026
Salary: R228 321 per annum, plus 37% in lieu of service benefits
Location: Pretoria

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with Accounting as a passed subject

  • Basic knowledge of Public Service financial legislation (PFMA, Treasury Regulations, PSA, PSR, PPPFA)

  • Computer literacy (MS Office)

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organisational and analytical skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture, store, and manage correspondence and compliance records

  • Maintain registers, statistics, and filing systems

  • Support procurement processes and source quotations

  • Maintain asset and leave registers

  • Assist with audit preparation and compliance documentation

  • Handle routine enquiries and petty cash administration

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
