The Department of Defence has released a notice inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for various vacant posts based in the Western Cape and Gauteng. These opportunities are open to applicants who hold a Grade 12 qualification and are seeking employment within the public service sector.

1. Personnel Official: Supervisor

Salary: R325 101 – R382 959 per annum (Level 07)
Location: Simon’s Town, Western Cape
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Human Resource Management
-
Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
-
Knowledge of HR policies, PERSOL system, and personnel practices
-
Strong supervisory, communication, and problem-solving skills
Key Responsibilities:
-
Supervision of subordinate personnel
-
Management and verification of HR documentation and applications
-
Maintenance of awards and long-service registers
-
Processing of medals, decorations, and service awards
-
Handling HR enquiries in line with departmental policies
2. Personnel Official: Production

Location: Simon’s Town, Western Cape
Minimum Requirements:

No prior work experience required

Knowledge of HR prescripts and personnel maintenance

PERSOL system qualification will be advantageous
Key Responsibilities:

Clerical support for provisioning administration

Maintenance of stock registers and assistance with stocktaking

Support in storage, issuing, and safeguarding of military items

Assistance with demand, purchasing, and disposal processes
3. Administration Clerk: Production

Minimum Requirements:

Knowledge of HR and provisioning systems
Key Responsibilities:

Provision of administrative and clerical support

Assistance with stock control and warehouse administration

Updating data registers and operational readiness records

Support with issuing, receiving, and evaluation of stock
4. Secretary

Salary: R228 321 – R268 950 per annum (Level 05)
Location: Erasmuskloof, Pretoria
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent

Strong interpersonal and office administration skills

Computer literacy and effective filing abilities
Key Responsibilities:

Management of the Director’s diary and appointments
-
Preparation of correspondence, agendas, and meeting minutes

Handling of travel claims, procurement, and office administration

Reception of visitors and coordination of meetings and events
