Vacancy 1: Specialist Engineer – Water and Sanitation

Location: MISA Head Office, Centurion, Pretoria
Salary: R1 928 700 – R2 757 078 per annum (Total Cost to Company)

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • A Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering (MEng or MSc Eng) specialising in Water and Sanitation, or an equivalent SAQA-recognised NQF Level 9 qualification.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ post-qualification experience.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide specialist engineering support on water and sanitation projects.
  • Develop innovative engineering solutions for complex municipal challenges.
  • Lead technical advisory services and advanced research initiatives.
  • Review and contribute to municipal infrastructure master plans.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering legislation, standards, and industry best practices.

Vacancy 2: Chief Engineer (Civil)

Location: Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal
Salary: R1 317 108 – R2 484 204 per annum (Total Cost to Company)

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must have:

  • A Civil Engineering Degree (BEng or BSc Eng) or equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification.
  • At least 6 years of post-qualification Civil Engineering experience.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer with ECSA.

Key Responsibilities

The appointed Chief Engineer will:

  • Provide strategic leadership for civil engineering functions.
  • Oversee infrastructure planning, implementation, and maintenance programmes.
  • Support municipalities through technical assessments and interventions.
  • Manage feasibility studies, procurement processes, infrastructure projects, and contract administration.
  • Lead the development and implementation of municipal infrastructure master plans.
