Head Clinical Unit: Radiology
George Regional Hospital
This senior management post is responsible for leading a 24-hour radiology service serving the Garden Route and Central Karoo districts. Key responsibilities include clinical governance, operational oversight, staff supervision, training, and service delivery within a regional ecosystem model.
Salary: R2 084 754 per annum

Medical Sub-Specialist: Vascular Surgery (Grades 1–3)
Groote Schuur Hospital
The successful candidates will provide specialised vascular surgical services, participate in academic teaching, conduct research, and support clinical training within a tertiary hospital environment.
Salary: Up to R1 936 806 per annum

Medical Specialist: Family Physician
Kleinvlei Community Day Centre
This position focuses on primary healthcare leadership, quality improvement, clinical governance, teaching, and community-orientated healthcare services.
Salary: Up to R1 773 222 per annum

Medical Specialist: Urology
Groote Schuur Hospital
Urology Specialists will contribute to tertiary-level surgical services, training of junior staff, research activities, and multidisciplinary patient care.
Salary: Up to R1 773 222 per annum


Medical Officer Vacancies

Medical Officer posts are available in the following areas:

  • Trauma Centre – Groote Schuur Hospital (12-month contract)

  • Emergency Medicine – Worcester Regional Hospital

  • Family and Emergency Medicine – George Regional Hospital

  • Critical Care – Groote Schuur Hospital (12-month contract)

  • Psychiatric and Medical Services – Lentegeur Hospital

Duties include clinical service delivery, governance activities, teaching, research participation, and after-hours work where applicable.
Salary Range: R1 001 349 – R1 322 352 per annum


Engineering, IT, Finance and Management Vacancies

Chief Engineer (Civil/Structural)
Head Office, Cape Town
Responsible for infrastructure planning, feasibility assessments, design review, and implementation of health facility projects across the province.
Salary: R1 266 450 per annum

Deputy Director: People Management (Compliance and Training)
Supports governance, compliance monitoring, auditing, and training within people management functions.
Salary: R896 436 per annum

Deputy Director: Business Analyst (IT)
Leads business analysis standards, stakeholder engagement, and digital transformation initiatives within the IT directorate.
Salary: R896 436 per annum

Deputy Director: Financial Manager (Finance and SCM)
Provides financial management, governance, and supply chain oversight for Emergency Medical Services.
Salary: R896 436 per annum

Deputy Director: Administration (Public-Private Initiatives)
Manages public-private healthcare initiatives, stakeholder coordination, compliance, reporting, and financial oversight.
Salary: R896 436 per annum
