The Free State Department of the Premier has announced a senior management vacancy for qualified professionals seeking a leadership role within the provincial government.

The remuneration package includes a basic salary, pension contributions through the Government Employees Pension Fund, and a flexible portion which may include benefits such as a 13th cheque, medical aid assistance, housing allowance, and a car allowance.


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in strengthening integrity and security frameworks across the provincial administration.

1. Anti-Corruption Programme Implementation

  • Coordinate the implementation of the provincial anti-corruption programme.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant anti-corruption policies, legislation, and frameworks.

  • Promote ethics awareness initiatives across provincial government departments.

2. Security Management

  • Oversee the implementation of provincial security management policies.

  • Monitor compliance with security legislation and procedures.

  • Liaise with national security structures such as the State Security Agency.

3. Information Security

  • Coordinate provincial information security initiatives.

  • Manage vetting administration and implementation processes.

  • Lead information security awareness campaigns across departments.

4. Administrative Leadership

  • Ensure sound financial and supply chain management within the directorate.

  • Oversee records management, messenger services, and administrative support functions.


Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • An NQF Level 7 qualification recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority (preferably in Public Administration).

  • At least five years of experience at middle or senior managerial level.

  • Demonstrated experience in security and integrity management.

Required Competencies

  • Policy development and analysis

  • Knowledge of public service legislation and regulations

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Stakeholder engagement and collaboration

  • Computer literacy
