Requirements

Applicants must possess a BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of six years of post-qualification experience. Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and update operation and maintenance manuals for pump stations and dam infrastructure

  • Provide specialist mechanical engineering expertise

  • Manage major water infrastructure projects

  • Oversee asset management strategies and equipment lifecycle optimisation

2. Control Engineering Technologist Grade A

Location: Pretoria Head Office
Salary: R921,900 per annum

Requirements

A BTech in Mechanical Engineering with at least six years’ experience as an Engineering Technologist. Candidates must be registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng).

Responsibilities

  • Provide technological advisory support to engineering teams

  • Evaluate and approve technical designs and drawings

  • Assist with project feasibility studies and implementation

  • Mentor graduate interns and junior technical staff

3. Engineer Production Grade A–C (Civil)

Location: Gqeberha / Port Elizabeth
Salary: R879,342 – R1,323,267 per annum

Requirements

Applicants must hold a Civil Engineering degree with three years of relevant experience and be professionally registered with ECSA.

Key Duties

  • Assess and maintain bulk water infrastructure systems

  • Manage rehabilitation and maintenance projects

  • Prepare tender documentation and technical drawings

  • Provide technical guidance to stakeholders

4. Engineer Production Grade A–C (Mechanical)

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical systems for water resource infrastructure

  • Manage CAPEX programmes and infrastructure upgrades

  • Provide operational engineering support

5. Control Environmental Officer Grade A

Location: Bloemfontein
Salary: R612,480 per annum

Requirements

A four-year degree in Environmental Management or Natural Sciences with six years of experience in water services management or water use efficiency.

Duties

  • Monitor compliance with water use efficiency standards

  • Assess water losses and non-revenue water

  • Implement and monitor the No Drop Programme

  • Prepare regulatory reports and presentations

6. Control Engineering Technician Grade A

Reference Number: 200326/06
Location: Pretoria (Gauteng Provincial Office)
Salary: R551,493 per annum

Responsibilities

  • Manage infrastructure projects funded through RBIG, WSIG, and MIG grants

  • Monitor project budgets and implementation progress

  • Provide technical oversight for water and sanitation infrastructure projects
