Minimum Requirements

Four-year Degree (NQF 8) in Natural or Environmental Sciences or a related field

Minimum of six (6) years’ post-qualification experience

In-depth knowledge of:

UNFCCC and the Paris Agreement
-
Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF)
-
Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) Framework
-
Climate change policies, programmes, and international reporting obligations
-
Key Responsibilities
-
Coordinate South Africa’s international climate change reporting commitments
-
Provide technical guidance on transparency and MRV systems
-
Support and facilitate capacity-building initiatives
-
Monitor project funding, expenditure, and resource allocation

Minimum Requirements

National Diploma (NQF 6) in Forestry, Natural Sciences, or related field

At least three (3) years’ experience in forestry or environmental management

Knowledge of:

National Forests Act (NFA)

National Veld and Forest Fire Act (NVFFA)

Environmental legislation (NEMA, NEMBA)

Government administrative and financial systems

Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate the National Arbor Month Campaign and Arbor City Awards

Implement International Day of Forests initiatives

Support the National Greening Programme

Facilitate partnerships with municipalities, NGOs, communities, and the private sector

Oversee livelihoods and household greening projects

Monitor, evaluate, and report on programme outcomes
