Department of Agriculture Vacancies 2026: Multiple Government Posts Now Open

Available Positions

1. Deputy Director: Administration Support
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng
Salary: R896,436 per annum (Level 11)

This position supports the Office of the Chief Information Officer and includes responsibilities related to financial coordination, supply chain management, office administration, and human resource support.
Requirements: Relevant diploma and a minimum of three years’ experience at junior management level.


2. Scientist Production Grade A
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng
Salary: R761,157 per annum (OSD)

The successful candidate will administer the Plant Breeder’s Rights Act, evaluate plant varieties, and contribute to national and international scientific initiatives.
Requirements: Qualification in agricultural, botanical, or biological sciences and professional registration with SACNASP.


3. Scientific Technician Production Grade A (3 Posts)
Location: Stellenbosch, Western Cape
Salary: R391,671 per annum (OSD)

These positions are within Food Safety and Quality Assurance and involve laboratory analysis, equipment calibration, research support, and scientific reporting.
Requirements: Relevant diploma and SACNASP registration.

4. Senior Administrative Officer
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng
Salary: R397,116 per annum (Level 08)

The role provides administrative support to Natural Resources and Disaster Management, including budgeting, procurement, and asset management.
Requirements: Relevant diploma and at least two years’ administrative experience.


5. Supply Chain Clerk: LOGIS (Supervisor)
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng
Salary: R325,101 per annum (Level 07)

This supervisory position oversees asset management, procurement processes, supplier databases, and logistics services.
Requirements: Three years’ experience in supply chain management and proven supervisory capability.
