The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) is inviting qualified candidates to apply for the position of Assistant Director: Assets Management at its National Office in Pretoria. Minimum Requirements

Candidates must possess:

  • A relevant NQF Level 7 qualification in:
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Logistics
    • Transport and Asset Management
    • Bachelor of Commerce or related qualification
  • Between 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in:
    • Asset management
    • Fleet or transport management
    • Supervisory responsibilities
  • A valid driver’s license

Applicants should also demonstrate sound knowledge of:

  • LOGIS systems
  • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
  • Treasury Regulations
  • SCM regulations and policy frameworks
  • Fleet and transport management systems

Key Responsibilities

The appointed official will be responsible for the management and control of movable and immovable assets within the department. Duties include:

  • Maintaining and updating asset registers
  • Managing barcode allocation and asset tracking
  • Overseeing fleet and transport management
  • Monitoring vehicle maintenance and compliance
  • Supervising fuel usage and logbook administration
  • Managing supply chain records and documentation
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual asset reports
  • Supporting audit readiness and financial reporting
  • Supervising staff performance and workflow
  • Implementing risk management and internal control measures

The role further requires strict compliance with National Treasury guidelines and internal SCM policies.
