Gauteng Government Jobs and Internships Open for 2026 Applications

Gauteng Agriculture and Rural Development Internship Programme 2026–2028

The Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (GDARD) is inviting unemployed South African graduates to apply for its 24-month internship programme aimed at providing practical workplace experience and professional development.

Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of R8,174.75 and will primarily be placed at the department’s Johannesburg head office.

Gauteng Department of Health Recruiting Medical Specialists and Nursing Professionals

The Gauteng Department of Health has advertised several senior healthcare vacancies at Tara the H. Moross Centre and Tara Hospital in Sandton.

Senior Registrar: Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

The department is seeking a Senior Registrar who will work jointly with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of the Witwatersrand.

The position offers an annual salary package between approximately R1.39 million and R1.45 million.

Minimum requirements include:

  • MBBCh qualification
  • Specialist psychiatry qualifications
  • Current HPCSA registration

The role includes clinical services, teaching, research, training, and outreach programme participation.

Manager Nursing (PN-A9)

Applications are also open for a Nursing Manager position at Tara the H. Moross Centre.

Requirements include:

  • Nursing degree or diploma
  • Advanced psychiatric qualifications

Gauteng Provincial Treasury Announces Senior Management Vacancies

The Gauteng Provincial Treasury is recruiting experienced professionals for senior leadership positions in municipal finance and public finance management.

Deputy Director-General: Municipal Finance Management

The successful candidate will oversee municipal finance compliance, governance, and financial capacity-building across Gauteng municipalities.

Salary package: Approximately R1.81 million per annum.

Requirements:

  • NQF Level 8 qualification in Public Administration, Accounting, or Economics
  • Minimum of eight years’ senior management experience
  • Valid driver’s licence

A master’s degree will be advantageous.

Chief Director: Public Finance

The Treasury is also hiring a Chief Director: Public Finance to oversee budget management, fiscal policy, expenditure monitoring, and financial reporting.

Salary package: Approximately R1.5 million annually.

Requirements:

  • NQF Level 7 qualification in Economics or Finance
  • At least five years’ senior management experience

Roads and Transport Department Hiring Assistant Director

The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director: Applications Counter based in Ekurhuleni.
