Department of Social Development Vacancies 2026: Application Deadline 17 April

1. Chief Director: Human Capital Management

Reference: I1/A/2026
Salary: R1,494,900 per annum (all-inclusive)
Location: Pretoria (HSRC Building)

This senior management role is suited to experienced professionals in Human Resource Management or Industrial Psychology.

Minimum Requirements:

  • NQF Level 7 qualification in HR or Industrial Psychology
  • At least 5 years’ experience at senior management level
  • Knowledge of:
    • Public Service Act and Regulations
    • Labour Relations and Employment Equity
    • Treasury Regulations and PFMA
    • Performance management systems

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee human resource management functions
  • Manage employee relations and wellness programmes
  • Lead training, development, and performance systems
  • Develop HR policies and frameworks
  • Manage departmental budgets and staff performance

2. Senior Organisational Design Practitioner

Reference: I1/B/2026
Salary: R397,116 per annum
Location: Pretoria (HSRC Building)

This position is ideal for individuals building their careers in organisational development.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree or National Diploma in:
    • Industrial Psychology
    • Organisational Development
    • Operations Management or related field
  • 1–2 years’ relevant experience
  • Knowledge of:
    • Public Service regulations
    • Job evaluation systems
    • Organisational design tools

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct job evaluations and organisational design processes
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions
  • Improve workflows and business processes
  • Support organisational change initiatives
