Northern Cape Government Vacancies 2026: Engineering, Health & Nursing Opportunities

The Northern Cape Provincial Government has officially announced a range of employment opportunities for 2026 across key provincial departments. Vacancies are available within the Department of Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (COGHSTA) and the Northern Cape Department of Health, targeting qualified professionals in engineering, the built environment, healthcare, and nursing.

Department of Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (COGHSTA)

Chief Construction Project Manager (Grade A–B)

Reference No: HS (HSP&P) 04/01/2026
Salary: R1 266 450 – R2 388 657 per annum
Location: Kimberley (Provincial Office)

This senior management position is responsible for overseeing large-scale housing and infrastructure projects. The role includes managing contractors and consultants, ensuring legislative compliance, and providing strategic leadership in project delivery.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Built Environment

  • Minimum of 6 years post-qualification experience

  • Professional registration with SACPCMP or ECSA

  • Valid driver’s licence

Control Engineering Technologist (Civil) (Grade A–B)

Salary: R921 900 – R1 650 906 per annum
Location: Kimberley

The successful candidate will provide civil engineering advisory services, including design review, contract administration, quality assurance, and mentorship of junior personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BTech or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering

  • 6 years post-qualification experience

  • Registration with ECSA as an Engineering Technologist

Northern Cape Department of Health

Medical Officer (X5 Posts)

Salary: R1 001 349 – R1 322 352 per annum (grade dependent)
Location: Dr Harry Surtie Hospital

Medical Officers will be responsible for delivering quality clinical care, participating in hospital administration, and supporting multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Requirements:

  • MBChB or equivalent qualification

  • Registration with the HPCSA

  • Relevant post-registration experience

Operational Manager (Specialty & General Nursing)

Reference Nos: NCDOH 12/2026 & 13/2026
Salary: Up to R693 096 per annum
Location: Dr Harry Surtie Hospital

These positions require experienced professional nurses with demonstrated leadership and management capabilities.
