The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) of South Africa invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for a range of permanent vacancies available across various divisions for the 2026 recruitment cycle. Positions are offered at multiple salary levels and are located nationwide, providing opportunities within legal, administrative, human resources, risk management, and community support functions.

  • Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions (TRC)
    Pretoria – Head Office
    Salary: R1,563,183 per annum (Level 14)
    Requirements: LLB qualification; minimum 10 years post-qualification legal experience; TRC experience advantageous

  • Senior State Advocate – Sexual Offences & Community Affairs
    Pietermaritzburg, Mmabatho, Nelspruit, Bloemfontein
    Salary: R1,195,110 – R1,859,814 per annum
    Requirements: Minimum 8 years legal experience; expertise in GBVF and sexual offences

  • State Advocate – SOCA Unit
    TCC Tembisa, Mankweng, Galeshewe
    Salary: R932,904 – R1,539,321 per annum
    Requirements: At least 5 years prosecution experience; focus on community justice and GBVF


Administrative & Management Positions

  • Assistant Director: Asset, Fleet & Facility Management – Witbank
    Salary: R468,459 per annum

  • Senior Human Resources Development Practitioner – Pretoria
    Salary: R397,116 per annum

  • Senior Administrative Officer: Enterprise Risk Management (X2) – Pretoria
    Salary: R397,116 per annum

  • Administration Officer: Witness Protection – Witbank
    Salary: R325,101 per annum


Community & Support Services

  • Thuthuzela Care Centre (TCC) Coordinator – Rietvlei
    Salary: R397,116 per annum

  • Victim Assistant Officer – TCC – Rietvlei
    Salary: R325,101 per annum

  • Messenger / Driver – Thohoyandou
    Salary: R193,359 per annum


Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be subject to:

  • Security clearance and fingerprint verification

  • Integrity and competency assessments

  • Possible social media screening

Certain senior positions require completion of a Pre-Entry SMS Certificate from the National School of Government.
