Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport Internship Programme 2025–2027

The Gauteng Provincial Government, through the Department of Roads and Transport, invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the 24-month Internship Programme for the period 2025–2027. The programme is intended for unemployed South African graduates seeking practical workplace experience within the public service.

Internship Details

  • Position Title: Internship Programme – Policy, Legislation, Research and Knowledge Management

  • Location: Head Office, Johannesburg

  • Stipend: R7,860.50 per month

  • Duration: 24 months

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Possess a National Diploma or Degree in one of the following fields:

    • Library and Knowledge Management

    • Public Management

    • Governance

    • Information Science

  • Be a South African citizen

  • Be currently unemployed

  • Must not have participated in any internship programme previously

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing duties assigned within the Policy, Legislation, Research and Knowledge Management Directorate

  • Providing support to departmental projects and administrative functions

  • Assisting with research, policy development, and knowledge management activities

  • Gaining practical workplace experience relevant to their field of study
