Department of Communications and Digital Technologies Announces Government Vacancies for 2026

The South African Department of Communications and Digital Technologies (DCDT) has officially opened applications for several permanent government positions based in Pretoria, Hatfield. Candidates should also possess a minimum of five years’ senior management experience in public sector financial management, including budgeting, reporting, accounting, and asset management.

The successful candidate will oversee financial reporting, supply chain management, budgeting processes, and compliance with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA). The role also involves engagement with stakeholders such as National Treasury and the Auditor-General.

Director: Logistics, Travel and Asset Management

The DCDT is also recruiting a Director: Logistics, Travel and Asset Management, with a salary package exceeding R1.26 million per annum.

Suitable candidates must possess qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Finance, Logistics, or Accounting, along with at least five years of management experience within logistics and asset management environments.

Key responsibilities include managing travel systems, logistics services, asset registers, payments, and fleet operations while ensuring compliance with government financial regulations and standards.

Parliamentary and Cabinet Support Position

Another vacancy currently open is the Parliamentary and Cabinet Support position, which offers a salary package of more than R932,000 annually.

The department seeks candidates with qualifications in Political Science, Public Administration, or Business Administration, as well as experience in office administration and knowledge of South African parliamentary processes.

Responsibilities include coordinating parliamentary responses, preparing cabinet memoranda, supporting ministerial activities, and managing administrative functions linked to Parliament and Cabinet operations.

Registry Clerk Opportunity for Entry-Level Applicants

The department has also advertised a Registry Clerk position in Pretoria, ideal for matriculants and first-time job seekers interested in entering the public service sector.

The post requires only a Grade 12 qualification, with no previous work experience necessary. The starting annual salary is R237,453.

Duties include document management, filing, scanning records, handling correspondence, and supporting registry operations within the department.
