Gauteng Provincial Treasury Opens Vacancies
The Gauteng Provincial Treasury has officially announced several employment opportunities aimed at strengthening governance, financial oversight, supply chain management, and internal auditing within the province.

Director: Open Tender Support
Among the senior positions advertised is the role of Director: Open Tender Support within the Provincial Supply Chain Management Directorate. The successful candidate will receive an all-inclusive annual salary package of R1 266 714 and will be based in Johannesburg.
Applicants must possess:
- An NQF Level 7 qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Public Administration, Economics, or Commerce
- A minimum of five years’ managerial experience
- A valid driver’s licence
- Completion of the Public Service SMS Pre-entry Programme
The successful candidate will oversee procurement planning, improve compliance within supply chain management processes, manage open tender systems, and implement strategic risk management measures. The role also includes leading SCM teams, facilitating training initiatives, and driving operational innovation across the province.

The Treasury is also recruiting for the following Deputy Director positions:
Deputy Director: Supply Chain Management Acquisitions and Logistics
This position, located within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, offers an annual salary package of R932 292.
Requirements include:
- An NQF Level 7 qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Finance, or Logistics
- Three to five years’ experience in the SCM environment at Assistant Director level
Responsibilities include managing bid processes, compiling bid documentation, supervising supplier databases, and overseeing acquisition and logistics operations.
Deputy Director: Transversal Risk Management
The Financial Governance Directorate is seeking a qualified candidate for this position, which also offers an annual salary package of R932 292.
Applicants must have:
- A recognised qualification in Risk Management, Accounting, Finance, or Internal Auditing
- Three to five years’ relevant experience at Assistant Director level
Professional membership with IRMSA will serve as an added advantage.
Key responsibilities include supporting departments and municipalities with risk management implementation, maintaining risk profiles, ensuring compliance reporting, and supervising staff performance.
Assistant Director Opportunities

Assistant Director: Asset Management

Candidates should possess qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Auditing, as well as experience in asset management or auditing environments. Knowledge of PFMA regulations, asset management frameworks, GRAP, and GAAP standards is required.

Assistant Director: Accounting Compliance
Two vacancies are available for candidates with an NQF Level 6 qualification in Accounting or Finance and three to five years’ experience in statutory deductions management.

Experience with systems such as PERSAL, BAS, and SAP will be advantageous. Duties include managing statutory deductions, overseeing debt recovery processes, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with PFMA and Treasury Regulations.
Assistant Director: Internal Audit Quality Assurance
The Gauteng Audit Services unit is also recruiting for an Assistant Director: Internal Audit Quality Assurance position with a salary of R487 197 per annum plus benefits.
Candidates should hold qualifications in Internal Audit, while professional certifications such as CIA, PIA, GIA, or IAT will be advantageous.
The successful applicant will conduct quality assurance reviews, maintain audit methodologies, manage audit software systems, and ensure compliance with global internal audit standards.
