GCIS Invites Applications for Enterprise Risk Management Committee Positions
The Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals to serve on its Enterprise Risk Management Committee (ERMC). These appointments form part of GCIS’s ongoing commitment to strengthening governance, risk oversight, and regulatory compliance within the public sector.

Available Positions
1. Enterprise Risk Management Committee Chairperson (1 Post)
Location: Pretoria
Term: Three (3) years, renewable for a further three years subject to satisfactory performance
Meetings: Approximately five (5) meetings per annum
Remuneration: In accordance with National Treasury guidelines
Requirements:
-
Relevant degree in Risk Management, Internal Audit, or a related field
-
Minimum of ten (10) years’ senior management experience
-
Demonstrated expertise in PFMA, Treasury Regulations, ISO 31000, King IV, COSO, and the Public Sector Risk Management Framework
-
Previous service as a Chairperson or member of a Risk or Audit Committee
-
Strong background in enterprise risk management, governance, auditing, compliance, ethics, ICT, and business continuity
Key Responsibilities:
-
Chair and ensure the effective functioning of the ERMC
-
Advise the Accounting Officer on enterprise-wide risk and governance matters
-
Oversee the implementation of risk management frameworks, policies, and strategies
-
Guide the determination of risk appetite and tolerance levels
-
Submit regular reports to the Accounting Officer and the Audit Committee
2. ERMC Ordinary Member – Risk Management & Compliance
Location: Pretoria
Term: Three (3) years, renewable
Remuneration: As prescribed by National Treasury
Requirements:
-
Degree in Risk Management, Internal Audit, or a related discipline
-
At least ten (10) years’ management experience
-
Experience serving on risk management or audit committees
-
Sound knowledge of governance, compliance, ethics, and business continuity
Key Responsibilities:
-
Provide advisory support on organisational risk and governance matters
-
Review and monitor the implementation of enterprise risk management practices
-
Guide risk identification, assessment, and reporting processes
-
Support ethics, integrity, and fraud risk management initiatives
3. ERMC Ordinary Member – Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Location: Pretoria
Term: Three (3) years, renewable
Remuneration: As prescribed by National Treasury
Requirements:
-
Degree in ICT or a digital-related discipline
-
Minimum of ten (10) years’ management experience
-
Experience in ICT governance, ICT risk management, and audit processes
-
Prior service on a Risk Management or Audit Committee
Key Responsibilities:
-
Advise on ICT governance and technology-related risks
-
Monitor compliance with ICT governance frameworks
-
Support the integration of ICT risk management into departmental planning
