This position forms part of the Senior Management Service (SMS) and focuses on strengthening curriculum delivery across all phases of basic education, from Early Childhood Development (ECD) through to Grade 12.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) or equivalent
- A minimum of five years’ experience at senior management level
Demonstrated expertise is required in:
- South African education policy frameworks
- Curriculum systems, including NCF and CAPS
- Strategic planning and programme management
Core competencies include leadership, financial management, innovation, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading national curriculum implementation strategies
- Improving teacher development and instructional quality
- Enhancing learner performance, particularly in literacy and mathematics
- Supporting the expansion of Early Childhood Development (ECD)
- Advancing inclusive education initiatives
- Strengthening school-based assessment systems
- Applying data-driven approaches to improve educational outcomes
