Senior Project Management Opportunities

Among the most notable vacancies is the National Project Manager position based at the Pretoria Head Office. The role offers an annual salary package exceeding R1.2 million and requires candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree at NQF Level 7 in Social Science, Environmental Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.

Applicants must also demonstrate at least five years of senior management experience in infrastructure development, water services, or grant-funded programmes. The successful candidate will oversee national water services grant programmes, coordinate infrastructure funding initiatives, and manage stakeholder engagement with municipalities and water boards.

Deputy Project Manager Posts in Mpumalanga

The department is also recruiting for the Deputy Project Manager: Water Services Infrastructure Development and Refurbishment Programmes role in Mbombela, Mpumalanga.

This position offers a salary package exceeding R1.1 million annually. Candidates should possess qualifications in Civil Engineering or Project Management, together with experience in infrastructure planning and construction management.

Responsibilities include supporting provincial infrastructure delivery projects, monitoring implementation targets, coordinating feasibility studies, and assisting with grant programme administration.

Water Services Strategy and Research Careers

Applicants interested in policy and strategy development can apply for the Deputy Director: Water Services Macro Strategy Research and Evaluation vacancy based in Pretoria.

Suitable candidates should hold qualifications in Public Policy, Development Studies, Social Science, or Public Administration, with proven experience in policy analysis and strategic planning within the water and sanitation sector.

The role focuses on conducting research, coordinating SEIAS reports, developing macro strategies, and evaluating policy implementation to improve service delivery outcomes.
